"XPrime Query Services is a purpose-built 64-bit application that intelligently analyzes Business Intelligence (BI) requests and assigns them to the engine best optimized to handle them. To the BI application, it appears as an instance of SQL Server™ that is transparent to both application and business user - except for the blazingly fast performance they get on queries that used to take forever.
Large, complex or un-indexed queries are assigned to the XPrime Query Services Query Accelerator, a massively parallel query engine that runs fully compiled queries against a fully synchronized, in-memory shadow copy of the SQL Server database."
