Bsd Jail |
"Jail is now widely used for securing services that may be compromised by attackers such as BIND, Sendmail or other mail transport agents, and the Apache webserver. Jail can also be used to subdivide a server, creating jailed UNIX environments, giving the jailed user access and clearance to a fully functioning root account, with all of the benefits and security concessions, incendental or intended. This provides the ability to delegate resposibility for the jailed environment back to the user, so that the user can start and stop proceses, manage their users, install software, alter configuration files, and bind to ports less than 1024."
