Softricity is like a version of VMWare that operates at the application level as opposed to the operating system. It provides just enough virtualization to insulate one application from another so that you avoid DLL hell. I think this is comparable to
LinuxVserverProject, but it's targeted towards dynamically provisioning Citrix farms with Windows applications. Whereas normally you'd have to dedicate Citrix boxes with certain non-conflicting applications, Softricity allows you to package them up in bundles that can be deployed as needed to any Citrix server, allowing you to shrink your server farm.
