Virtual PC is Microsoft's strategy for migrating NT users to Windows 2003+

Originally written as an IBM-PC virtual machine for Macintosh by Connectix, VirtualPC was purchased (along with other software) by Microsoft in 2003. Connectix' VirtualPC was an excellent product, providing tight integration for supported versions of Windows (for example, drag and drop files from your Mac desktop straight into your Windows desktop).

Connectix themselves had a good reputation as the makers of Speed Doubler and Ram Doubler. Ram Doubler was the only decent VM implementation for Mac OS until Apple finally worked on stabilizing the system for Mac OS 8.x and later.
