Tool Automatically Converts SQL Queries
http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,3959,990210,00.asp
Doesn't this sound like an April Fool's article?
If they said they do pl/sql -> tsql, I would assume it was a joke. It
looks like it just handles ANSI-SQL incompatibilities, but that's still
hugely useful.
I should write vembu and see if they would consider donating to open
source projects.

Java (IKVM) & Mono
http://www.osnews.com/story.php?news_id170
In this OS/News interview, Miguel mentions that the IKVM project (a
Java Bytecode->CIL translator) can be used to run the Eclipse IDE. I'm
impressed. I knew there had to be a way to make mono a bigger lawsuit
magnet. :-)

Red Hat 9 & bitTorrent
I'm downloading Red Hat 9 via BitTorrent. It's not as fast as I've seen
before, (16-33K/s, with 32K uploaded), but I expect it to get
better... Slashdot has an article about how much sense this makes, and
that should mean a lot of repeaters out there.
I'm glad people are starting to realize how cool this is. In another
year or two I predict we'll skip the ISO nonsense and just start trading
User Mode Linux VM's :-)
